Teampass at a glance
Checked 15 Oct 2026Teampass (3.2.3.0, Oct 2026) is a self-hosted team credential vault, GPL-3.0, led by its original developer since 2009. It runs on PHP 8.2+ with MySQL/MariaDB or via Docker, with folder and role permissions, per-user RSA-wrapped keys, LDAP/AD and OAuth2 SSO, and a browser extension for autofill. The repo lists 44 GitHub security advisories published in 2026 alone; they are fixed and disclosed, but check you run the latest release. No mobile or desktop apps; we found no third-party audit report. Better suited to IT teams than families.

2 of 6 jobs. Web-based team vault with folder permissions and a browser extension; no mobile apps.
For vault sync across devices, two-factor (TOTP) codes, passkey storage, breach and weak-password alerts (Watchtower), see other 1Password alternatives. You may also need to build an interface, an API server and hosting yourself.
