Agent Toolkit for AWS
AWS's official plugins, agent skills and managed MCP server that let coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor build and run apps on AWS.
Agent Toolkit for AWS (no tagged releases, ~3.3k stars, Oct 2026) is AWS's official set of plugins for AI coding agents. Plugins such as aws-core, aws-agents and aws-data-analytics bundle agent skills (CDK, serverless, containers, billing, Bedrock) with the AWS MCP Server, a managed remote server run by AWS. Install with one plugin command in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Devin, or run aws configure agent-toolkit; needs uv and AWS credentials. Apache-2.0, no charge for the toolkit, but you pay standard AWS prices for resources used. It has no model or chat interface of its own.
The facts
| Question | Answer | Source | Checked |

| Commercial use | Yes. Yes, Apache-2.0 allows commercial use; the toolkit itself has no additional charge | github.com | Checked 8 days ago |
| Paid services needed? | Optional. No charge for the toolkit; AWS API calls need an AWS account billed at standard AWS pricing for resources used; also needs an AI coding agent | docs.aws.amazon.com | Checked 8 days ago |
| Hardware | No hardware needs of its own; skills load into the host agent and the MCP Server runs on AWS (a small local uvx proxy for SigV4) | docs.aws.amazon.com | Checked 8 days ago |
| Operating systems | Setup docs give uv install commands for macOS, Linux and Windows; OAuth needs no local software at all | docs.aws.amazon.com | Checked 8 days ago |
| Setup effort | Easy, one plugin install in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Devin, or the aws configure agent-toolkit wizard; needs uv, plus AWS credentials for API calls | docs.aws.amazon.com | Checked 8 days ago |
