Magenta RealTime 2 magenta/magenta-realtime

Google's open-weights live music model that streams instrumental music in real time from text prompts on Apple Silicon Macs.

Magenta RealTime 2 at a glance

Checked 15 Oct 2026

Magenta RealTime 2 (Google, 2026) streams instrumental music you steer live with text prompts, as a Python library, a C++ engine, a standalone macOS app and an AUv3 DAW plugin. Two sizes: 230M (real time on any Apple Silicon Mac) and 2.4B (needs a Pro or Max chip). Code is Apache-2.0 and weights CC BY 4.0, and Google claims no rights in outputs. It is trained mostly on instrumental music, so it does not sing lyrics or write full songs. Real-time use is Apple Silicon only; offline generation also works on NVIDIA GPUs.
