Ultimate Vocal Remover at a glance

Checked 15 Oct 2026

Ultimate Vocal Remover (UVR) is a widely used desktop app for stem separation: vocals versus instrumental, plus drums, bass and other stems with Demucs models. Installers exist for Windows and macOS, with manual Linux steps. GPU conversion needs at least a GTX 1060 6 GB (8 GB recommended); AMD support is limited. Code is MIT and the developers ask for credit when their models are reused. It only separates audio; it does not generate music. The last release (v5.6) is from 2023, though the repo is still updated.
