Experimental Python framework that automates YouTube Shorts/TikTok creation and video dubbing with an LLM, stock footage and TTS.

ShortGPT at a glance

Checked 15 Oct 2026

ShortGPT (v0.3.0, February 2025; little activity since) automates short and longer videos: script, Pexels footage, Edge TTS or ElevenLabs voiceover, captions, plus a translation engine that dubs an existing video into another language. Runs as a Gradio web app in Docker or Google Colab. MIT code. It needs a cloud LLM key: the code only accepts OpenAI or Google Gemini, with no local model option. No avatars.
