Outline at a glance
Checked 15 Oct 2026Outline is a team wiki and knowledge base (v1.11.0, Oct 2026). It is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1, not open source: you may use it in production except to run a commercial "Document Service" for third parties, and each version converts to Apache-2.0 after four years (2030-10-12 for 1.11.0). Self-hosting needs Docker, PostgreSQL 14+, Redis 4+, an auth provider, a domain and 512 MB RAM (1 GB+ recommended); Windows is not supported.

1 of 4 jobs. Team wiki with real-time collaboration; BSL forbids offering it as a commercial document service.
For databases (tables and boards), sync across devices, see other Notion alternatives. You may also need to build an interface, an API server and hosting yourself.
