Buzz at a glance
Checked 15 Oct 2026Buzz (from Block, first released March 2026, Apache-2.0) is a team workspace built on a Nostr relay: channels, threads, DMs, canvases, media, search and an audit log work today, and AI agents join channels as members. It also has YAML workflows and git hosting. Desktop apps exist for macOS, Linux and Windows (unsigned alpha); mobile apps and push notifications are not ready yet. The relay needs Docker with Postgres, Redis and S3/MinIO; no hardware sizing is published. It is young and aimed at developer teams, not a drop-in Slack replacement.
RepoQuarry. “Buzz.” Checked 15 Oct 2026. https://repoquarry.dev/projects/buzzHow much of Slack does it replace?
4 of 5 jobs. Channels, threads, DMs, search and workflows work; mobile apps, push notifications and huddle lifecycle are still being built.
For voice and video huddles, see other Slack alternatives. You may also need to build an interface, an API server and hosting yourself.
