# WeKan

> WeKan (v12.48, Oct 2026, ~21k stars) is a Trello-style kanban app with swimlanes, lists, cards, checklists, calendar, Gantt, table and timeline views, and importers for Trello, Jira and many others. MIT licensed. Ships as a Windows/Mac/Linux bundle with bundled SQLite (no database server), Snap, AppImage, Docker or Kubernetes. Needs 1 GB free RAM (4 GB total for production). No undo; the project stresses backups and staying on the newest version.

## What it replaces
- Trello: Kanban boards (boards, Shared boards with comments and live updates, Calendar and timeline views (partial). Real-time kanban with calendar and Gantt views and Trello import; feature parity not checked.
- monday work management: Kanban task boards (partial). Collaborative Kanban boards cover visual task tracking; it does not replace the complete monday automation, reporting and app ecosystem.
