# Postiz

> Postiz (v2.25.1, October 2026) is a social media scheduler you can run on your own server with Docker Compose, or use as the paid Postiz Cloud. You write a post once, pick channels such as X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky or Mastodon, and schedule it on a calendar. It has team collaboration, post analytics, a public API, webhooks, an MCP server and a CLI. The self-hosted edition has no plan limits, but you must register your own developer app on most platforms, and the AI copilot needs your own OpenAI API key. Licensed AGPL-3.0.

## What it replaces
- Buffer: Schedule posts to social networks, Publish one post to many channels, Draft posts with an AI assistant, See how posts perform (partial). Covers scheduling, cross-posting and analytics; self-hosting means registering your own developer app per platform (Meta, YouTube, TikTok approval can take weeks), and AI writing needs your own OpenAI key.
  - Use it instead of paying for Buffer? Personal use: Yes. Business: Yes.
