# Playwright MCP

> Playwright MCP (v0.0.83, ~38k stars) lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients drive a real browser (Chromium, Chrome, Edge, Firefox or WebKit). It reads pages as structured accessibility snapshots, so no vision model is needed. Runs visible by default or headless, with a saved profile, an isolated one, or your own Chrome through an extension, and can attach to any browser over CDP. Needs Node.js 18+. Apache-2.0. Microsoft now suggests its Playwright CLI with skills for coding agents, as it uses fewer tokens.
