PhotoPrism at a glance

Checked 16 Oct 2026

PhotoPrism (40k stars, release 261007 Oct 2026) indexes your photo and video folders and adds automatic labels, face recognition, powerful search filters, places, Live Photos and RAW support, in an installable web app (PWA). The Community Edition is AGPL-3.0 and free; paid Essentials and Plus memberships add features such as interactive world maps and a web UI for user accounts (the free edition manages users from the command line). There is no native mobile backup app; it suggests third-party apps like PhotoSync or WebDAV. Needs 2 cores and 3 GB RAM via Docker.
