# PdfCraft

> PdfCraft is an Acrobat-style PDF workbench from the ArtCraft team, written in Rust and started on 30 September 2026 (v0.8.0, 14 Oct 2026). Its README says alpha, about 55% of the way to replacing Acrobat for everyday work; editing existing text, OCR beyond Latin script and Office import/export are thin or missing, and fuzzing still finds crashes. Installers for Windows, macOS, Linux and FreeBSD; MIT or Apache-2.0. Not affiliated with Adobe. Commits show heavy AI-agent assistance.

## What it replaces
- Adobe Creative Cloud: PDF editing (Acrobat) (partial). Alpha; weak at editing existing text, OCR and Office conversion.
