# Lexicon

> Lexicon is a young (created July 2026, v0.10.3) desktop rich-text editor that underlines grammar and spelling with a bundled local LanguageTool and offers rewrite, concise and nine tone transforms through a downloaded Qwen3.5 model (0.8B or 2B, ~0.8-1.4GB) run by llama.cpp, or your own Ollama. No account; text stays on your machine. MIT code, Apache-2.0 model. You write inside Lexicon, so it does not check text in other apps; no plagiarism check. Installers are unsigned. Supported languages are not listed.

## What it replaces
- Grammarly: Grammar and spelling checks, AI rewriting and tone changes (partial). Offline proofreading and AI tone rewrites inside its own editor; no browser extension or plagiarism check.
