# KeePassXC

> KeePassXC (2.7.12, actively developed) is a desktop password manager that keeps everything in a local encrypted KDBX file. It has browser autofill via an extension, TOTP codes, passkeys, password health and HIBP reports, SSH agent and a CLI. GPL-2.0 or GPL-3.0. An independent audit of version 2.7.4 (2023) found no major problems. There is no sync server or account: to use the vault on several devices you sync the file yourself (Syncthing, a cloud drive) and use KeePass-compatible apps on mobile. No built-in family or team sharing.
