# Kanboard

> Kanboard (v1.2.54, Aug 2026, ~9.9k stars) is a deliberately simple kanban board: drag-and-drop columns, WIP limits, subtasks with time estimates, a search query language and automatic actions. MIT licensed. In maintenance mode: no new major features, only small fixes and community releases. Runs on PHP with SQLite, MySQL or PostgreSQL on Linux, FreeBSD or Windows, or via Docker. No real-time collaboration or calendar/timeline views listed.

## What it replaces
- Trello: Kanban boards (boards (partial). Simple kanban boards with WIP limits and automation; minimalist UI, no new major features planned.
- Todoist: Kanban task boards (partial). Kanban task tracking covers visual planning; it does not reproduce Todoist's natural-language capture, reminder experience or client ecosystem.
