FreshRSS at a glance
Checked 21 Oct 2026FreshRSS (v1.30.4, October 2026) is a self-hosted, multi-user feed reader written in PHP. It works with SQLite, PostgreSQL or MySQL/MariaDB, runs on light Linux or Windows servers (even a Raspberry Pi), and has Docker and one-click hosting options. It can scrape sites that have no feed using XPath, receive instant WebSub updates, save search queries, and sync with mobile and desktop apps via the Google Reader and Fever APIs. Extensions add more. No built-in AI summaries. AGPL-3.0.

Where these numbers come from
- Stars, forks, releases: GitHub's public API, fetched every night (last fetch today).
- Star history: counted every night since 22 Oct 2026.
- Commits and people committing: GitHub's repository statistics, counted weekly. Names are never stored.
- Pull requests and issues: counted from GitHub for the last 30 days.
- Stars show popularity, not quality. The facts below are checked separately, by reading the project's own documentation. How we check.
