FreeLLMAPI at a glance

Checked 18 Oct 2026

FreeLLMAPI is a Node 20+ server, desktop app (Windows, macOS) and Docker image that stores your free-tier keys for providers such as Groq, Google and Mistral and routes each request to one with quota left. It speaks OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini formats, so Claude Code or Codex can use it. MIT licence, but open-core: free installs get the model catalogue 30 days late; a live feed costs $19/year. The README says it is for personal use, not production, and each provider's terms still apply. It does not replace a paid product.

Where these numbers come from
  • Stars, forks, releases: GitHub's public API, fetched every night (last fetch today).
  • Star history: counted every night since 18 Oct 2026.
  • Commits and people committing: GitHub's repository statistics, counted weekly. Names are never stored.
  • Pull requests and issues: counted from GitHub for the last 30 days.
  • Stars show popularity, not quality. The facts below are checked separately, by reading the project's own documentation. How we check.
