# Fooocus

> Fooocus is a prompt-focused SDXL generator modelled on Midjourney: vary, upscale (1.5x/2x), inpaint, outpaint (pan), image prompt and face swap. It needs 4GB NVIDIA VRAM and 8GB RAM. Code is GPL-3.0; the default model is Juggernaut XL v8 (tagged CreativeML OpenRAIL-M). The project is in limited LTS, bug fixes only, with no plans to add newer architectures such as Flux. Last release v2.5.5 (2024-08-12); last commit 2025-09-02.

## What it replaces
- Midjourney: Text-to-image, Image editing (inpainting and outpainting), Upscaling, Style and image reference (partial). Explicitly mirrors Midjourney's vary, upscale, pan and image-prompt features, but limited to SDXL models and no longer developed.
