Context Mode at a glance
Checked 18 Oct 2026Context Mode is an MCP server plus hooks for Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot, Codex, OpenCode and other agents. It runs tool output in a sandbox and returns only the result, and logs session events to local SQLite so the agent can find them after compaction. Needs Node.js 22.5+ (or Bun) and an AI coding agent. It is source-available under the Elastic License 2.0, not open source: you may not offer it as a hosted service. The README says there is no telemetry. It does not replace a paid product.

Where these numbers come from
- Stars, forks, releases: GitHub's public API, fetched every night (last fetch today).
- Star history: counted every night since 18 Oct 2026.
- Commits and people committing: GitHub's repository statistics, counted weekly. Names are never stored.
- Pull requests and issues: counted from GitHub for the last 30 days.
- Stars show popularity, not quality. The facts below are checked separately, by reading the project's own documentation. How we check.
