BridgeClip bridge-mind/bridgeclip

Desktop app that finds moments in long videos and reframes and captions them locally, using your own OpenRouter key for the AI steps.

BridgeClip at a glance

Checked 15 Oct 2026

BridgeClip (v0.1.19, September 2026) is an Electron and Python desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux from BridgeMind. It finds complete moments from the transcript, exports 9:16 or 16:9 clips with face-following framing, nine caption styles and dead-air removal, and has an editor for trims and crops. Rendering is local, but transcription and clip picking run through OpenRouter, so a paid key with credit is required. Optional social publishing via Zernio. MIT. No virality score. Very young project (created September 2026).

How much of Opus Clip does it replace?

4 of 5 jobs. Close feature match minus a virality score, but AI steps are billed to your OpenRouter account and publishing needs a Zernio account.

Partial: AI picks highlight clips from a long video Partial replacement
Partial: Auto-reframe to vertical 9:16 (speaker or face tracking) Partial replacement
Partial: Animated burned-in captions on clips Partial replacement
No: Virality score per clip Not covered
Partial: Schedule and publish clips to social platforms Partial replacement

For virality score per clip, see other Opus Clip alternatives. You may also need to build an interface, an API server and hosting yourself.
